Introduction to Trang - City Centre
The city of Trang is the capital of the province of the same name in Thailand's far south. The city railway station is in the middle of the city and has daily overnight services from Bangkok. There is a choice of Trang City Centre hotels in the environs of the station, with a central grouping on Thanon Rama VI. The city centre is a monument to religious tolerance, with Islamic mosques, Buddhist temples and Christian cemeteries all sited here. Restaurants and cafes serve a mix of ethnic cuisines, with fiery southern curries and Muslim delicacies very much in evidence. Delicious freshly brewed coffee is on the menus of a number of establishments. The city is a fairly quiet location, but a convenient overnight stopover for long distance travellers heading west to Andaman Sea beaches and islands or Satun and Malaysia. The principal attractions in town that are within walking distance of the city are Sa Kaphang Surin lake and park and the Phraya Ratsada monument. other spellings: tranghotels city, trang otel, thrang hotell, traang hote, trung hotes, hotle in trang
