Introduction to Sukhothai - City Centre
Famed for its ancient temples and monuments, the city of Sukhothai can be found just over 400kms to the north of the Thai capital city of Bangkok. Most people choose to spend two or three days exploring all that the city has to offer, and a large number of excellent Sukhothai City Centre hotels are available. While the temples of Old Sukhothai date back several hundreds of years, most of the attractions that can be found in the heart of Sukhothai are relatively modern. Wat Mahathat is one of the most popular sights here, while Wat Saphan Hin is also worth taking the time to explore. The heart of the city boasts an excellent selection of restaurants and bars, while a night market tends sets up here at around 17:00 on most nights of the week and is the perfect place to indulge in a spot of shopping, find a cheap meal and do a little people watching.
