Introduction to Phuket - Cape Panwa
Few places on the island of Phuket are as peaceful as Cape Panwa, where modest fishermen's huts stand alongside the growing number of luxury beachfront condominiums and villas. However, many more modest Cape Panwa hotels can also be found near its scenic beach, known as Khao Khat and situated eight kilometres from Phuket Town. The beach is better suited for strolling than swimming because of its shallow waters and rough sands, but its views of Lone Island and Chalong Bay cannot be beat. Here, visitors can rent tall boats which can sail to Lone Island in a matter of minutes. A handful of beach bars and restaurants are situated along the strand. The aquarium at the cape's end has just completed a massive renovation, including a new 10m glass tunnel with a similar design to one of Singapore's most popular aquariums. Both sides of the tunnel are lined with more than 30 tanks filled with exotic sea creatures and fish from throughout the world. A nature trail outside the main gallery leads visitors to large pools filled with green sea turtles.Visit our Phuket Travel Guide
