Introduction to Phitsanulok - City Centre
Phitsanulok is a province and city in northern Thailand, located almost halfway between the ancient kingdoms of Lanna and Isaan. The city is the provincial capital and although not as popular as other Thai cities with regards to tourism, it is a great place to visit for a taste of Thai culture. In the city centre along Singhawat Road are several Phitsanulok hotels. The Nan River passes through the city, and from many areas visitors can enjoy lovely river views. The city offers modern and cosmopolitan restaurant and bar areas. Temple-hopping is a popular pastime among visitors, with Wat Phra Sri Rattana Mahathat the most significant temple in the city due to it housing the Phra Buddha Chinnarat statue. Thai massage can be enjoyed at the adjacent temple of Nang Phaya.
