Introduction to Nonthaburi, Thailand
Although technically the second largest city in Thailand, Nonthaburi is located so close to Bangkok that it is generally considered to be a suburb. It is possible to travel to Nonthaburi pier from the centre of Bangkok in a little over half an hour, and visitors will find a good range of leading Nonthaburi hotels overlooking the Chao Phraya River. The city is the gateway to the tiny island of Koh Kred, which was given to the Mon people as a settlement back in the 18th century in exchange for their commitment to make pottery here for the Thai people. Wandering around Koh Kred is an enchanting experience, and those who explore the pottery villages will have the chance to watch local people creating pottery, while there are also plenty of places here to sit and soak up the natural beauty. Visitors can also explore the large and lovely local temple known as Wat Khemaphirataram Rajaworawiharn. other spellings: nonthaburihotels, montaburi otel, nonthaburee hotell, nonthabrui hote, nonthabrui hotle
