Introduction to Nan, Thailand
Hotels in Nan are less developed than those in other major Thai tourist spots, but this is part of their charm. The town is a gateway to the rural province and its natural attractions, namely its six national parks. There are also some interesting Buddhist temples and a museum to explore when staying at Nan hotels while dining is best done on the riverfront where a collection of Thai-style restaurants are situated. While there are no luxury hotels in Nan, mid-range options are plentiful, as are budget guest houses. It is easy to find a conveniently located en suite room with amenities such as hot water and air conditioning. Fan rooms are cheaper and often just as comfortable. Outside town Nan hotels are less prevalent, with the most popular form of lodging being homestays. These provide a wonderful opportunity to get a first-hand experience of Nan’s unique hill tribe populations.other spellings: nanhotels, nan otel, nann hotell, nan hote, hotes in nan
