Introduction to Krabi - Krabi Town
The provincial capital of the province of the same name, Krabi Town is a compact, small city that acts as a ferry transit point for visitors en route to the likes of Koh Lanta and Koh Phi Phi. With no beaches, the city doesn't draw the holidaymakers that nearby Ao Nang and Railay attract, but it is a comfortable stopover for those heading to one of the area's more popular beach resorts. Town hotels often cater to visitors arriving by air at Krabi International Airport. Tourist sites in the city are in short supply, with most visitors spending their time dining in the tourist-oriented cafes and catching up on emails in the internet shops that line the main roads. But those with time to kill before a ferry may like to take in Wat Kaew or the adjacent Contemporary Art Museum of Krabi. A short way out of town is the so-called Tiger Temple, where amazing views can be had from its mountaintop location. Nightlife is low-key in Krabi, with the two night markets offering mostly local food and knick-knacks.Visit our Krabi Travel Guide
