Most visitors to Koh Tao stay at Sairee Beach where the bulk of the island’s bungalow operations are located. Yet there are plenty of Koh Tao hotels across the island. The second most developed beach is Chalok Baan Kao, which is connected to Sairee Beach by paved road. Many of the more remote hotels in Koh Tao are located at private bays that are only accessible by longtail boat or dirt track, ensuring total seclusion. Jansom Bay is a favourite with snorkellers and has high end Koh Tao hotels while Leuk Bay on the east coast is more geared towards families with its two price-friendly bungalow operations. Further north from Leuk Bay is Hin Wong, which is backed by exclusive Koh Tao hotels and palms. Another popular accommodation choice is the diving resort on Koh Nang Yuan, a tiny islet that faces the northeastern shore of Koh Tao.
