Introduction to Koh Samui - Lamai Beach
Koh Samui is known for its coconut trees, stunning beaches and great resorts, and millions of tourists visit the island each year to enjoy a holiday filled with sun, sand and sea. Lamai, on the east coast, is one of the most popular beaches on this Thai island, as it has some of the best shopping on Koh Samui and is close to many of its main sights. It is also the island's best beach for swimming and there is a large array of Lamai Beach hotels that vary from basic bungalows to high-end luxury. It is the perfect place for those who want to relax on the beach as well as visit some of Koh Samui's cultural sites or indulge in the naughty nightlife. Wat Khunanram can be found just south of the beach and is famous for its mummified monk.
