Introduction to Koh Samui - Big Buddha Beach
Big Buddha Beach received its name from the huge Buddha statue which has dominated the landscape of this beach and village on Koh Samui, an island in Thailand, for over three decades. Although this beach, also known as Bangrak Beach, has become one of the fastest growing parts of Koh Samui, it remains relatively uncrowded compared to the island's largest and liveliest resorts of Chaweng and Lamai. It is situated on Koh Samui's northern coast and tranquil bungalow resorts form the majority of Big Buddha Beach hotels, but there are also many larger homes available for long term rentals. The beach itself is sandy and long with calm waters suitable for swimming children, while the number of restaurants, shops, bars, and other activities right on the beach increases each year. Big Buddha Beach is also home to one of Koh Samui's most luxurious spas and the Secret Garden Festival, where locals and visitors alike can enjoy live music each Sunday.Visit our Koh Samui Travel Guide
