Introduction to Koh Chang - Lonely Beach
Also known as Hat Tha Nam, Lonely Beach is one of the most famous resorts on the Thai island of Koh Chang. Guests staying at Lonely Beach hotels have the chance to visit one of Koh Chang's most secluded and cleanest beaches. The beach has traditionally catered to backpackers but recent times have seen an increase in the number of high-class lodgings that are available. However, the famous backpacker bars are still doing a decent trade, with many of them offering buffets to customers during the evening. There is also an internet cafes and minimarts at the resort. Swimming and beach lounging are the main activities here. Ferries from the mainland arrive at one of two ports in the north of the island; Dan Kao and Koh Chang Ferry Pier. The latter caters to car ferries but since Lonely Beach is at the opposite end of the island, those without their own transport will need to take an inexpensive share-taxi to their accommodation.
