Introduction to Chumphon, Thailand
Chumphon is the provincial capital gateway for travelling to the rest of the south of Thailand. Located around 450kms from Bangkok it is from here that most people travel to the other southern islands. Chumphon hotels offer a great resting spot for continuing your travel to the rest of the south. Overnight buses travelling from the north of Thailand and Bangkok stop here for change to ferry travel, reaching destinations such as Koh Tao. Hotels in Chumphon also provide a place to rest during your travel on visa runs to Burma, which run from Ranong in the west. Chumphon is a nice little place to spend an evening or two, although it is often disregarded for this because visitors are eager to jump onto their next transportation.
