Introduction to Chonburi - Bangsaen
Bangsaen in Chonburi is famous for its beach and Wang Saen Suk Hell Garden. The beach is the location of Thailand's oldest resort. Nowadays, it remains popular, especially with Thai holidaymakers. It is lined with food stall that sell fresh seafood and well shaded by palm trees. The water is calm and gentle, making it good for swimming, and it is possible to fish for crab. Wang Saen Suk Hell Garden offers an altogether different experience to relaxing on the beach. This garden is filled with sculptures which depict the nearby monastery's vision of Buddhist hell. Many of the sculptures are grotesque but the garden makes for an interesting place to visit. Bangsaen has a large fishing industry so seafood found in restaurants here is invariably incredibly fresh.
