Introduction to Chiang Mai - Sansai
Situated just outside the city of Chiang Mai, Sansai is well known for its luxurious resorts set in the middle of the countryside. Sansai hotels are typically upscale and have great service. Surrounded by mountains, this former farming village has been attracting couples and honeymooners alike in recent years thanks to its relaxing and idyllic setting. In this area, there is little to do, and most people tend to relax around their resort's swimming pool. However, most of the resorts can arrange treks for its guests. Visitors will be taken out into the mountains by a local guide where they can hike, ride elephants and white water raft. These treks usually last a couple of days and encompass staying in a local village - a stark contrast to the luxury of the resorts. It is also possible to access Chiang Mai city from Sansai in 30 minutes, where there are a range of temples to visit, including Wat Prathat Doi Suthep, which is an old Buddhist temple set on top of a mountain.Visit our Chiang Mai Travel Guide
