Introduction to Chiang Mai - Mae Chaem
Famous for its hill tribes, handicrafts and unique culture, Chang Mai is one of the most popular destinations in Northern Thailand, and it is no wonder why. This province is situated within a scenic mountain range that is surrounded by nature and home to Thailand's highest mountain, Doi Inthanon. Doi Inthanon National Park, located in the province's Mae Chaem district, is one of Chang Mai's most visited attractions. As a result, there is a collection of Mae Chaem hotels, making it easy to explore this beautiful park and all of its natural scenery. The Karen hill tribe village of Ban Sop Had can also be found here and is a great place to visit to learn about these fascinating people and their culture. Also found in the park are two Napamaytanidol stupas that were built to commemorate the 60th birthdays of the King and Queen, and make for great holiday landmark photographs.
