Introduction to Chanthaburi - Beach
Chanthaburi, in the country's east, has some of the most scenic roads in Thailand. It is recommended that visitors rent a scooter to experience the breathtaking views available as they drive along the province's coastal roads that hug the Gulf of Thailand. The area is well known for its relaxed atmosphere, and most of the beaches in this part of Thailand are not popular with international visitors. The main beach, Khung Wilman, lies on the edge of a huge mangrove forest which visitors can wander around, while the beach itself is good for relaxing on and the sea is ideal for swimming. Laem Sadet Beach and Chao Lao Beach, both of which are shaded by pine trees and ideal for swimming in their calm waters, offer beach-goers alternatives. In recent years, Chanthaburi Beach hotels have improved dramatically and now there are many excellent resorts dotted along the coastline.
