Introduction to Bangkok - Thonburi
The oldest section of Thailand's capital city, Thonburi can be found on the far side of the Chao Phraya River, and is a great place for visitors to explore. Many of the leading Thonburi hotels can be found on the bank of the Chao Phraya River, offering stunning views from their windows and balconies. The Thonburi district of Bangkok boasts a whole host of interesting attractions, including Wat Arun, which is one of the oldest temples in the whole of Bangkok. The main feature is a large central prang, which has been adorned with pieces of broken pottery, while wandering through the surrounding gardens is an uplifting experience. Visitors can also climb to the third level of the huge prang to take in stunning views across the city.
