Introduction to Bangkok - Chatuchak - Lad Prao
Chatuchak and Lad Prao are two districts located next to each other in Bangkok, Thailand. Chatuchak used to be part of another district called Bang Khen, but became a district of its own in 1989 after the name of two of its most popular attractions, the Chatuchak Park complex and the bustling Chatuchak Weekend Market. Most Chatuchak - Lad Prao hotels are mid-range two- or three-star accommodation options, but affordable guest houses and higher range service apartments are also widely available in this neighbourhood. The Chatuchak Weekend Market is not only Thailand's biggest market, but one of the biggest markets of its kind in the world. Despite its name, many stalls remain open seven days a week. The district is also home to several modern shopping complexes, the largest of which includes the Bangkok Convention Centre, Thailand's very first convention hall. The other main attraction is Chatuchak Park, which is actually a complex containing three separate parks that include a train museum, the botanical garden of Queen Sirikit Park, and Wachirabenchathat Park, which contains Thailand's tallest fountain and a butterfly park.Visit our Bangkok Travel Guide
