Linsen N Road is a busy street and has numerous discos and nightclubs that attract many foreigners. Roosevelt Road also has several clubs and lounges. The nightclub scene in Taipei is mostly full of young people to people below 50 years. Another popular area to hang out and have a few beers are the variety of cafes and joints at the Shida night market area.
Those who are older seem to prefer spending their time at one of several lounge bars in Taipei. Lounge bars provide a quieter ambience and although some may have live bands the majority have recorded jazz playing. They are more expensive than many of the nightclubs but customers are really paying for the nicer ambience here!
