Sleepy countryside, bustling cities, temples, museums and a rich cultural heritage make Taiwan an ever-popular tourist destination. The country’s location allows visits to Japan, Korea, the Philippines and mainland China very accessible.
Taiwan’s diverse topography makes for a marine tropical climate. Rainy season generally lasts from January to March, although it is worse in the northern regions. The entire country experiences hot and humid weather between June and September, while between October and December, the country experiences its most pleasant weather. Although the climate is varied, there is always something to be experienced during your stay in Taiwan.
The main cities in Taiwan include the capital, Taipei, where you will find the business and political hub of the country; Kaohsiung, in the south, which is great for shopping; Taichung, which is the third largest city in Taiwan and is located in the middle of the west coast; Tainan, the oldest city in Taiwan and home to several historical sites and temples; Taoyuna, the centre of manufacturing and Tamsui, the oldest port in north Taiwan.
