There have been a few cases of dengue fever, but immunisation is not possible. It is recommended that visitors get inoculated against Hepatitis A, especially if they plan to visit the rural areas.
Hepatitis A is transferred because of poor sanitation as well as dirty glasses and utensils. Hepatitis B and C are also found on the island and is contracted through blood transfusions or sexual contact. AIDS is not unknown in Taiwan and visitors are recommended to always practice safe sex.
