Introduction to Yunlin, Taiwan
Located in the south of the island, Yunlin is developing as a tourist centre largely because of Jyanfushan Fancyworld, the region's largest amusement park and one of the biggest in Taiwan. Several important temples vie for attention from visitors, especially Beigang Chautyan and Mamingshan Jenan, with their heavily ornamented facades and priceless collections of ancient artefacts. But Yunlin is most popular with families, and it is the park that delights the kids. In addition to state-of-the-art rides and concessions, the sizeable complex includes a movie theatre, a circus tent and a casino, plus numerous restaurants and food shops. The countryside is good for walking, biking and hiking, with a trip up Malung Hill one of the most popular routes. Made up of five townships, all of which are visible from the top of Malung, the city is home to three universities and an annual summer music festival.
