Introduction to Damascus - Mezzeh
Mezzeh is one of the newest neighbourhoods in the Syrian capital, Damascus. Located on the southwest outskirts of the city, the district has somewhat of an international feel, with a number of embassies located nearby. As such, it is also considered one of the most expensive districts in the city. Staying in Mezzeh hotels is a good option for returning visitors who are looking for a quiet base for their visit. The neighbourhood overlooks the historic city centre, with many of the rooms here offering excellent views. The Syrian national stadium, Al Jamaa, is located nearby - convenient for those attending a sporting event in the city. Furthermore, the city's most well-known historical attractions are just three miles away, in Damascus city centre. Most travellers get here by flying to Damascus International Airport, around 18 miles away.
