Zurich Zoo: perhaps not the most obvious of things to do in Zurich, but Zurich zoo has a reputation for being one the best in Europe. Alongside an aquarium and a range of exotic birds in the aviary there are over 2,000 animals from around the world. The most popular zones include the Ape House, Africa House, Elephant House and the Giant Tortoise House, but the collection of big cats is especially good with lions, tigers, and leopards all available to see. From Zurich there are regular S-Bahn trains to Uetliberg, the small station here has an information hut and a restaurant. There is another restaurant at the summit, so you can enjoy the stunning views while you eat. Alpamare: is the largest water park in Europe. It is located in Pfaaffikon, a village on the shores of Lake Zurich and has a range of water related rides and activities. There are indoor and outdoor tube slides and swimming pools, and the hot springs mean you can enjoy the place all year round. | |
