Nightlife: the presence of two universities means that there is a well-established nightlife and a good choice of venues. Most of the bars are concentrated into certain areas such as Le Tunnel, Rue Enning and behind the chateau. The best place for clubs is the warehouse district of the Flon. Winter sport: Switzerland is synonymous with quaint, rustic mountain villages and a trip to Lausanne can be combined with a few days in one of the nearby resorts. Choose from skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing or ice skating at some of the top resorts in the Alps. Les Diablerets, Leysin and Villars can all be reached easily.
