April Festivals
International Exhibition of Inventions: taking place in early April, this event showcases new inventions and techniques with 100s of exhibitors from around Europe and the world.
June Festivals
Bol d'Or Regatta: Europe’s largest lake regatta is held in June and is one of the highlights of the Geneva calendar. Around 500 boats compete to see who can race across the lake in the quickest time, and when that’s all finished there’s a big party and lots of celebrating.
Montreux Jazz Festival: held every July, this world-famous event sees jazz musicians arrive to perform in front of eager crowds in a number of venues throughout the town of Montreux.
August Festivals
Fetes de Geneve: taking place on Swiss National Day in August, the Geneva Festival is a fun event with colourful floats, fireworks and a good fun atmosphere around town.
December Festivals
L'Escalade: held to celebrate the failure of the Duke of Savoy to take control of Geneva in the early 17th century, this event sees parades and lively costumes with children eating d’Escalade, a marzipan filled chocolate treat. It is an excellent event in the run up to Christmas.
