Introduction to Zurich - Dietikon
Dietikon is an outlying district of the city of Zurich, in northern Switzerland. It is around 10kms northwest of the city and its central Niederdorf precinct. Dietikon hotels provide guests with a less busy accommodation venue, yet easy access to Zurich and countryside attractions in the locality. Dietikon S-Bahn Station is on Zurich’s S3 and S12 lines, while the railway station is a stop on the Baden to Zurich service. The A1 autoroute skirts the north side of the district, which is mainly a centre for commercial business. Nevertheless, it has draws that include St Agatha’s Church and the Skulpturenpark. The latter is the creation of local artisan Bruno Weber and features unusual monuments such as a 25m tower with ornate decorations. From Glanzenberg Station in the district, a well-trodden hiking path heads out into the countryside. On the north bank of the River Limmat, there is a golf club, and a short walk along the river bank, the Benedictine abbey of Kloster Fahr.
