Introduction to Zuoz, Switzerland
Zuoz is a village of around 1,300 people in the far east of Switzerland. Much of the local economy is based on farming, but its well-kept village centre continues to attract a steady number of tourists. Its cobblestone streets and beautiful ancient buildings ensure that the village retains the atmosphere of a typical Engadin village. The most striking buildings in the centre are the village church and Planta House. The latter is closed to the public, but this spectacular structure in the Main Square is still worth a look. In addition, the village offers easy access to nearby activities such as golf and hiking. In winter, the village attracts skiers who come to use the village's cross-country ski centre. Travellers can reach Zuoz hotels by taking a train from St Moritz, the most famous Engadin village. There are around 17 departures from St Moritz each day.
