Set on the southern shore of Neuchatel Lake, Yverdon les Bains is one of the biggest Swiss towns in Vaud canton. The town came to prominence in 2002, when it hosted the National Exhibition (Expo 02). However, it continues to attract visitors who are enchanted by its thermal baths, rich history and art culture. The best place to learn about the town's history is the Museum of Yverdon les Bains and Region. The museum is located in the town's 13th century castle, where exhibits and works of art date back as far as Egyptian times. Another centre of art can be found at the Swiss Fashion Museum. This museum is unique in that all of its 3,000 pieces were donated by designers, collectors and members of the public. The easiest way to reach Yverdon les Bains hotels from other Swiss locations is by train. Hourly services depart for the town from Swiss cities such as Zurich, Geneva and Bern.
