Nestled between Bois de Lily forest to the east and Mont de Baulmes d'en Bas mountain to the west, Vuiteboeuf is a Swiss municipality in Orbe canton. This town near the French border has Yverdon-les-Bains 10kms to its west, along with Lake Neuchatel, while Lausanne and Lake Lemac sit 40kms directly to the south. Yverdon-les-Bains is the main tourism hub in the area, with its thermal springs, Roman remains and 13th century castle, but Vuiteboeuf hotels make for great bases for those who want to be more in tune with the surrounding alpine landscape of the Three Lakes Region. Once visitors have soaked up the centuries of history on show in neighbouring Yverdon, they can re-connect with Vuiteboeuf by train. It is also possible to reach Sainte-Croix by rail from the municipality, with the route offering scenic snapshots of the Jura Mountains. Sainte-Croix is a fine example of Swiss heritage, with its well-preserved quintessentially Swiss buildings.
