Introduction to Uster, Switzerland

Boasting 30,000 inhabitants, the Swiss city of Uster offers a great alternative to staying in nearby Zurich. The city is connected with its larger neighbour by S-Bahn, meaning visitors can be in Zurich city centre in just 15 minutes. Uster itself is known for its well-preserved architecture and lakeside recreation, from cycling to rollerblading. Sightseers can take in the main architectural sight, the castle, or enjoy a boat ride across Greifensee Lake to Maur. Opposite Greifensee is Pfaeffikersee, the smaller of the two nearby lakes. Away from the lakes are trails suitable for horseback riding and golf courses. Eating out options in town span fast food, Chinese and even Mongolian.
