Introduction to St Moritz - Celerina
Celerina is a Swiss historical town that is perfectly located for accessing famous St Moritz skiing areas such as Corviglia/Marguns. The end of the world-famous Cresta Run is, in fact, located here. The small town is situated around three kilometres outside of St Moritz, which has regular train departures to the town's station. Travellers can fly to Zurich Airport and reach St Moritz by train via Chur. In winter, there are regular gondola services to the main skiing areas, while summer sees a steady stream of visiting hikers, mountaineers and cyclists. Other summertime activities include golf and hang-gliding. Celerina has a rich history, with many town centre buildings dating back to the 1500s. The best known historical attraction is the hillside San Gian church, a Swiss heritage site which dates back to 1478. A church is believed to have been sited here at least 400 years before the current Gothic construction. There aren't really any large Celerina hotels, but the town's small inns provide a more personal welcome than those in higher-profile resorts nearby.other spellings: celerinahotels, cellerina otel, celorina hotell, celerinar hote, calerina hotes
