Introduction to Samedan, Switzerland
The Swiss canton of Graubunden is home to the municipality and town of Samedan in Maloja district. Two top attractions here, the Library of Fundaziun de Planta and the Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart, are Swiss heritage sites. Located in the centre of Upper Engadine, Samedan is surrounded by gorgeous natural landscapes. During summer, the area offers opportunities to hike in the mountains and admire wildlife along the way. A five-kilometre hike encircles an airfield. Also to be done here when it's warm are mountain biking, fishing, golf and tennis. Come winter, in addition to the superb skiing conditions, there are gentle bunny slopes good for children's first attempts to master skis plus exciting toboggan rides. Samedan hotels are set nearby such outdoors activities. Fine rail and bus links make getting around a breeze. There are also decent trails good for hiking.
