Situated on the south side of Lake Constance, the third-largest body of water in Europe, Rorschach is a major tourist destination in the Swiss district of the same name, right in the northeast of the country.
Aside from the lake, a major draw in itself, the town features a number of historic buildings that are heritage sites of national significance, including the former granary located at Hauptstrasse 58 as well as the former Abbey of Nariaberg.
The Kornhaus, as the granary is known in German, is a stout square building with a white facade that dates back to the mid-18th century, while the abbey, a long white building with a high vaulted ceiling surrounded by a pristine lawns, is in many ways more impressive.
There are numerous Rorschach hotels to choose from, most of which lie close to the southwestern edge of Lake Constance and offer good views of the water.
Excursions to nearby castles that line the banks of the Rhine River are also popular from the town.
