Romanshorn is a picturesque harbour village on the shores of Lake Constance, Switzerland.

This lake actually forms part of the border between Germany and Switzerland.

There are regular car ferries from Friedrichshafen, which offer a convenient route to this Swiss region without having to travel through Austria.

These boats connect seamlessly with the many trains departing from the train station next to the harbour.

Much of the local population is employed in manufacturing and shipping industries courtesy of the village harbour.

However, there are a few historical attractions here, too, meaning the entire village has been acknowledged as a Swiss National Heritage site.

Specific heritage sites include the harbour itself as well as village churches such as the Catholic Church of St Thomas der Taufer.
