The town of Romainmotier is a small but important settlement in the far western Swiss canton of Vaud, in the Orbe district of the country. The town was originally a stand alone settlement until it was merged with Envy in 1970. This is why the town is often referred to as the Romainmotier-Envy municipal area. Only a small population of 450 people lives permanently in the township, adding to the small town, enchanting atmosphere of the settlement. Romainmotier hotels are few in number, but provide quality accommodation for guests. The main sight in the town is the Romanesque church. This beautiful religious building is believed by many to be the most fascinating in Switzerland. In addition to the architectural sights in the town, visitors are able to go hiking in the nearby Bois de Forel region. There is a bus station found along Route de Vaulion and a train station five kilometres east of the town.
