Kussnacht is a Swiss village in the central Schwyz region. The village is the capital of a district with the same name, which is home to around 12,000 residents. The village sits on the north shore of Lake Lucerne, set against the backdrop of Mount Rigi. The village is less than two miles from Immersee, one of the district's villages on Lake Zug's south shore. Travellers can reach Kussnacht hotels by taking a train from Lucerne, a journey which shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. Alternatively, there are slower but more scenic boats from the same city. In any case, travellers can join a steamboat pleasure cruise around the lake during the summer months. The best views of Kussnacht and its surrounds are from the Seebodenalp on Mount Rigi. Travellers can get here by cable car from the village centre. In winter, the Seebodenalp has a ski-lift which leads to slopes suitable for all abilities. The Seebodenalp is also the starting point of one of the area's most popular walks, which leads as far as Rigi-Kaltbad. Here, the cable car continues on to Rigi-Kulm, renowned for its fabulous sunrises.
