Kriegstetten is a small municipality in Solothurn, north-western Switzerland, of around 1,300 people. A settlement is believed to have stood on this site since at least the 13th century. Nowadays, it is noted for its convenient access to the A1, which connects the eastern and western parts of the country. Kriegstetten is located on the Bern to Zurich section, meaning that Kriegstetten hotels are most useful for people travelling between these two cities. The town centre is conveniently located just 500 metres from the motorway exit. Most commercial activity centres on Hauptstrasse, where guests can find a bank as well as a popular restaurant which offers locally-made tea. The town's employees tend to speak native German, but French and English are widely spoken, too. There is a bus station at Dorfplatz which serves other parts of Solthurn. Guests should make the effort to reach Solothurn city, which is regarded as the most beautiful Baroque city in the country. Solothurn city is less than 15 minutes from the town centre by road.
