Introduction to Interlaken - Unterseen
Interlaken is the capital of the beautiful Bernese Oberland in Switzerland and is well worth a visit. The small town has excellent tourist amenities and provides memorable holidays. Its crystal clear lakes, fantastic falls, sparkling streams and the Eiger, Monch and Jungfrau mountains all help to draw visitors. One of the municipalities in the area is Unterseen, which is the highest settlement on the Aare, located in the Bodeli watershed, in between Lake Brienz and Lake Thun. From the town it is possible to take in unforgettable views of the mountains. Unterseen has a population of just over 5,500, of which nearly 15 per cent are foreign nationals. Most people in the town speak German, with a small percentage speaking Portuguese or Italian. Unterseen hotels can be pricey although they usually offer incredible vies of the surrounding mountains.
