Situated in the south of Switzerland, in the district of Bellinzona, close to the border with Italy, Giubiasco is a picturesque town that lies on the junction of a number of different main roads that wind their way through the Alps on all sides. Indeed, the town is situated in a valley surrounded by hills which are home to a number of farms that that have remained largely untouched for decades, growing fruits, vegetables and cereals. Lying either side of a scenic railway line that connects to nearby Camorino and Sementina alongside the main river, Giubiasco has a number of old buildings of interest including the Church of Santa Maria Assunta, which is estimated to date back nearly 800 years. Giubiasco hotels are mostly located close to each bank of the river, providing excellent views over the surrounding countryside and nearby mountains and making this town another beautiful stop in Switzerland.
