Introduction to Geneva - Les Eaux Vives
The district of Les Eaux Vives is a quiet yet important part of the large city of Geneva. It is found to the east of the city centre, which is where most of the international organisations have their headquarters. Les Eaux Vives hotels are extremely popular as the district is quieter than the downtown district, yet still close to many of the famous attractions. The largest park in the area is Parc la Grange, a fantastic place for families who just want to get away from the city streets and enjoy a peaceful afternoon. Located within the district is the Natural History Museum, the country’s largest such museum which houses marvellous displays pertaining to the nation’s flora, geology and animal life. Just a few hundred meters to the west of the museum is the Museum of Art and History, which is one of the most visited sites in Geneva, housing works by Witz, Cezanne and Rodin, among other acclaimed artists.
