Introduction to Bad Ragaz, Switzerland
Luxurious spa treatments are Bad Ragaz's speciality as the natural springs in the area produce soothing, warm water that is harnessed by wellness centres. Among the best is the grand Spahouse Bad Ragaz, which was originally built in 1866 and has been renovated with modern facilities. Here, therapeutic bathing can even be combined with fine dining at the same time. Tamina Thermal Springs is another large centre with indoor and outdoor baths as well as enticing features such as a waterslide, a spa grotto and a waterfall. All the thermal waters actually come from deep within the Pizol, a 2,220m high mountain that itself has trails for skiing, cycling and walking. Bad Ragaz hotels range from grand locations, originally built to accommodate the likes of Russian nobility, through to cheaper two-star hotels. The area also has important Swiss heritage sites, including the remains of Freudenberg Castle and St Leonhard's Chapel.other spellings: bad ragazhotels, badragaz otel, hotell, bad ragez hote, hotesin badragas, bad ragaz
