Skansen Kronan: once a prison in the 19th century, this hilltop fort houses a military museum which allows visitors the chance to observe arms and weapons and learn about the history of Gothenburg’s military. The fort also offers wonderful views overlooking the city.
Elfsborg Fortress: take a tour around this well-preserved fortress to learn more about the history of battles against the Danes. With its unique location on a small island at the mouth of the Gota River, Elfsborg Fortress is great fun for all the family.
Haga: walk around this pretty city district where you can explore a number of lovely wooden houses dating back to the 19th century. It is the oldest area in Gothenburg and boasts an abundance of antique and art shops.
Gothenburg Art Museum: is where you will find an impressive collection of Nordic art. The museum is also home to a theatre and a concert hall while the adjacent Hasselblad Centre occasionally hosts contemporary art exhibitions.
