Introduction to Stockholm - Arsta & Alvsjo
One of the world's prettiest cities, the Swedish capital is home to some two million people - a fifth of the country's population - living in a vibrant, sprawling metropolis that covers 14 islands on Lake Malaren. Arsta Alvsjo hotels put visitors in one of the most beautiful parts of this incredibly pretty city. The historic centre of Stockholm Arsta Alvsjo, Gamla Stan, is less than five kilometres to the north. The Euroroute E4 runs to the north, providing excellent road access into central parts of the city. Skogskyrkogarden, or the Woodland Cemetery, is a major tourist attraction and an UNESCO World Heritage site located to the east. The great Globe Arena, home both to ice hockey games and many big arts events, can be reached by local roads and main highways in just minutes. Tyresta National Park, home to trees born some four centuries ago, is about 30 minutes' drive to the south. Several key rail lines offer convenient stops, making it easy for non-drivers to travel into Stockholm.Visit our Stockholm Travel Guide
