Karlstad was settled on a delta where the largest lake in Sweden meets the country’s longest river. Swedes regard the town as the sunniest in the country, and thus the symbol for the city is a picture of a sun. The city has a port on the lake Vanern and the port is a source of income for the city. The port attracts both industry and tourism. Hotels in Karlstad are widespread and readily available to suit all the needs of visitors to the area.
