Remarks:
The Best Western Karlaplan Hotel was formerly known as the Clarion Collection Karlaplan Hotel.
The rooms are small to medium in size as they are bound by the walls and floor plan of the old restored building. They are light and airy with parquette floors, persian carpets, exclusive Jensen beds and Versace textiles. The dominating colour theme is black and white but walls in other rich colours are used to accentuate the design in certain rooms. Overall there is a feel that the hotel is furnished and designed with a personal touch as remnants of the old style can be found preserved in things like cast iron pieces, floors and marble friezes.
Restaurant:
The restaurant area off the lobby serves an organic breakfast buffet in the morning and tea/coffee during the day. In addition, an evening buffet is complimentary to all guests, and includes a variety of salads and at least one hot dish.
Lobby:
The lobby is modern in decor and leads off to the dining area.
Exterior:
The hotel was built in 1914 and consists of eight floors in an architecturally valuable brick building of the period. The entrance is a stunning stone arch through which steps rise to the lobby.
