If however, you wish to remain in the country for over 30 days, you must apply for a visa. Business travellers must obtain a business visa regardless of which country you travel from. Passports must be valid for over six months and must have a minimum of two clear pages.
A tourist visa, costing about $65 is also available by prior arrangement, allowing a stay of up-to 90 days. Should you need more than 30 days to see the country you can apply at the Immigration Department in Colombo for an extension which is issued at their discretion.
