Introduction to Southwest Coast - Galle
Galle is the biggest city in the southwestern region of the island of Sri Lanka. It is located in Galle district, 119kms from Colombo. Visitors will find many Galle hotels are situated close to the Gin River, which is the main river in the city. The architecture in the city is a mix of European and Asian architectural styles and traditions. Some of the major landmarks in the city include Galle Fort, which is a World Heritage site, as well as the biggest fortress in Asia.
