Amanwella Hotel Tangalle - Southwest Coast

The stunning, truly luxury beachfront Amanwella Hotel Tangalle is set on a secluded, long crescent shaped sandy bay on the south coast of Sri Lanka. It is set among coconut groves and is just over 1 km from Tangalle Village and around 15 minutes drive from the village of Dickwella. The stylish, contemporary style suites at the Amanwella Hotel, Tangalle are scattered throughout the hillside and designed with traditional natural materials, each with its own private plunge pool. Relax by the 45 metre in length, infinity beach view swimming pool or enjoy the food and splendid ocean views while eating at the beach club or terrace restaurant.

The restaurant is located within the cluster of public buildings at the southern end of the resort and is open for breakfast and dinner. Situated eight metres above sea level, it offers views across the pool towards the coconut grove and beach. Table seating is on two elevated levels and outdoor seating is available on another lower level. Inside the restaurant, doors open onto an internal courtyard landscaped with frangipani trees and reflecting pools. The cuisine is Asian and Mediterranean with an emphasis on local seafood from the Indian Ocean. A poolside terrace and beachfront restaurant are also available during lunch and dinner for a more casual dinning experience.

The resort is situated amongst a coconut grove facing onto a cresent-shaped white sand beach. Most suites are dotted along the hillside and connected by pathways that also lead down to the main public areas, 47 metre infinity pool and beach. The property is contemporary in design and constructed with many traditional materials, including Sri Lankan roof tiles and hand-hewn stone.
