Municipal Museum of Art: is located northwest of the Plaza de Espana in Santa Cruz. There are a number of works by notable Italian and Dutch masters as well as some contemporary local ones.

Natural History Museum: can be found in downtown Santa Cruz and is a relatively new museum. It details the history of the island from before Spanish rule up to the present day. There are a range of interesting exhibits here, and the magnificent 16th century building makes it well worth a visit.

Regional Military Museum: located in Almeida Castle, this museum opened in 1988 and is an impressive centre for historic cartography. There are a large range of weapons and other military objects on display here, with a section dedicated to Admiral Nelson and his failed attempt to invade the island. In there main hall, there are a number of flags left behind by Nelson’s troops.
There are also some interesting old weapons from the days of the Gaunches and their battles with the Spanish.
